Thiogeraniol(CAS#39067-80-6)
Introduction
Thiophenol is an organosulfur compound.
Thiogernool is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a strong pungent odor. It is soluble in a variety of organic solvents but insoluble in water. Its special structure, thiogeraniol, has high reactivity and is prone to oxidation, sulfuration, substitution and addition reactions.
In chemical synthesis, thiogeraniol is often used as a raw material for sulfiding agents, oxidants and catalysts for the synthesis of thiophenols, thioketones, thioethers and other compounds. Thiogeraniol can also be used as an additive in perfumes and fragrances, giving products a special odor.
The preparation methods of thiolimol are mainly as follows:1. Phenophenol is reduced by alkaline conditions. 2. Ester is formed through alkyd acid reaction, and thiogeraniol is obtained by ester hydrolysis.
Thiogerol is a toxic compound that is irritating to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. Care should also be taken to avoid reacting with chemicals such as oxidants and strong acids to avoid dangerous accidents.
