Tetrahydropyran(CAS#142-68-7)

Brief introduction
Tetrahydropyran is a colorless liquid with a peculiar fishy smell. It is a non-polar solvent with high solubility and swelling and can dissolve many organic compounds, including some compounds that are poorly soluble in water.

Tetrahydropyran has a wide range of applications in organic synthesis. It can be used as a solvent for the preparation of catalysts, synthesis reactions, and intermediates in a variety of organic synthesis reactions. Tetrahydropyran can also be used as a plasticizer for rubber and plastics to enhance their flexibility and ductility.

Tetrahydropyran is usually prepared by the oxidation reaction of phthalic anhydride and tributyltin.

When using THC, attention should be paid to its irritating effect on the skin and eyes, and prolonged or large amounts of exposure should be avoided. Tetrahydropyran is a flammable liquid, contact with oxidants and combustibles should be avoided, and storage should be kept away from fire sources. If a leak occurs, it should be removed quickly and it should not enter groundwater and water bodies. When handling and storing THC, please refer to the relevant safety guidelines and follow proper operating procedures.
