Solvent Black 28(CAS#12237-23-9)
Solvent Black 28(CAS#12237-23-9)
Physicochemical properties
Appearance: Usually black powder or granular substance, pure color, with a certain gloss.
Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents, such as toluene, xylene, chloroform, ethanol, etc., forming a black solution in these solvents, and its solubility properties make it work in different solvent systems.
Melting Point: Generally around 180°C – 190°C, but the exact value may vary depending on the purity and test conditions.
Stability: It is relatively stable at room temperature and pressure, but under extreme conditions such as high temperature, high humidity, strong acid, strong alkali or strong oxidant, decomposition, discoloration or other chemical reactions may occur, affecting its performance.
use
Plastic industry: It is often used in the coloring of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), polyamide (PA) and other plastics, which can give plastic products a deep black appearance, and is widely used in the production of plastic pipes, plastic films, plastic containers, electronic product shells and other plastic products to enhance the texture and commercial value of products.
Ink field: It is an important black colorant in solvent-based inks and some special inks, used for printing newspapers, magazines, packaging materials, labels, etc., which can provide high hiding power and high saturation of black printing effect, with good printing adaptability and drying performance, to ensure the color quality and stability of printed matter.
Coating industry: added to solvent-based coatings, powder coatings and varnishes, used for surface coating of metal, wood, concrete and other materials, not only to provide a black decorative effect for the coating, but also to enhance the lightfastness, weather resistance and chemical resistance of the coating, and improve the protective performance of the coating.
Other applications: There are also applications in wax products, greases, leather and other fields, which are used to give black tones to these products, such as for black candles, black crayons, leather dyeing, etc., which can meet the needs of different industries for black coloring.
