White or pale yellow columnar crystals, odorless. Melting point 300 °c. Soluble in methanol, acetic acid, acetone and alkali, solubility in cold water 1%, about 10% in hot water, insoluble in ether and ethyl acetate.
Method
It is prepared from p-hydroxyaniline as raw material by diazotization, arsine and nitration; It can also be prepared by arssodication and nitration of phenol as a raw material.
