Introduction
β-Methylphenylenyl alcohol (β-MPW) is an organic compound. It is a colorless liquid with a special fragrance.
β-methylphenylpentanol is widely used in the flavor and fragrance industry to prepare aromatics, perfumes, flavors and other products, and is often used to blend fruity, floral and grassy fragrances.
The preparation method of β-methylphenylpentanol can be obtained by methylation of phenylpentanol. Specifically, phenylenylanol reacts with methyl bromide to produce β-methylbenzenylpentanol.
It is a flammable liquid that may burn and explode when exposed to ignition, high temperatures, or oxidizing agents. When operating, wear appropriate protective gloves, protective glasses and protective clothing, and take care to avoid inhaling gases, fumes, dusts and vapors. In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention if necessary. When storing, it should be kept away from fire and heat sources, and stored in a well-ventilated place.
