L-GLUTAMIC ACID MONOPOTASSIUM SALT(CAS# 19473-49-5) introduction
Uses and synthesis methods
Potassium L-glutamate salt is a common amino acid salt compound.
It improves the overall taste and flavor of food and has an appetite-increasing effect.
It can be used as an antidote to neutralize the effects of toxic substances in the body.
There are generally two methods for the synthesis of potassium L-glutamate salt. The first is obtained by the reaction of the amino acid L-glutamic acid and potassium hydroxide, which usually takes place under alkaline conditions. The second method is to catalyze the decarboxylation of glutamate by glutamate decarboxylase to produce potassium L-glutamate salt.
