Introduction
(E)-1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-yl)-2-buten-1-one, also known as enone, has the following properties:
Appearance: Colorless liquid.
Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Main uses of alkenone:
Catalyst: Enketone can be used as a catalyst for hydrogenation reactions.
Synthesis of functional compounds: Enone can be used as a starting material or intermediate in the synthesis of other organic compounds, and participate in olefin functionalization reactions, olefin selective addition and other reactions.
A common synthesis method of enketone is prepared by oxidation-dehydrogenation reaction. For example, cyclohexene is oxidized with trimethylethoxy to cyclohexanone, and cyclohexanone is then reacted with sodium hydroxide to obtain enone.
Enone is a flammable liquid, and contact with open flames and high heat sources should be prohibited, and it should be kept away from fire sources.
Wear chemical gloves, goggles, and protective clothing when using alkenone to avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.
Inhalation of enone vapor should be avoided during operation and good ventilation should be maintained.
Enketone is easily hydrolyzed under acidic conditions and is prone to violent reactions caused by oxidants, so please store and use them properly.
