Introduction
D(-)-2-aminobutyric acid, also known as D(-)-2-proline, is a chiral organic molecule.
Properties: D(-)-2-aminobutyric acid is a white crystalline solid, odorless, soluble in water and alcohol solvents. It is an amino acid that reacts with other molecules because it has two functional groups, carboxylic acid and amine group.
Uses: D(-)-2-aminobutyric acid is mainly used as a reagent in biochemical research, biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields. It can be used in the synthesis of peptides and proteins and is used as an adjunct to catalytic enzymes in bioreactors.
Preparation method: At present, D(-)-2-aminobutyric acid is mainly prepared by chemical synthesis method. A common preparation method is to hydrogenate butanedione to obtain D(-)-2-aminobutyric acid.
Safety information: D(-)-2-aminobutyric acid is relatively safe under general use conditions, but some safety precautions should still be noted. It can be irritating to the skin and eyes, and appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn when operating. It should be stored in a dry, dark and well-ventilated place, away from flammables and oxidants. Please read the product’s Safety Data Sheet carefully before use and storage. If you feel unwell or have an accident, you should seek medical advice or medical attention immediately.
