fatalness
Health hazards
Irritation: It has a strong irritating effect on the conjunctiva of the eye and the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, and there will be mild irritation when people inhale 40-100mg/m³× 10 seconds, and inhale 12mg/m³× 10 minutes for the minimum toxic concentration (irritation).
Chronic hazards: Long-term exposure can cause chronic rhinitis and nervous system dysfunction.
Toxicity: Poisoning by swallowing, poisoning by skin contact, and fatal by inhalation. rat oral LD₅₀ was 240mg/kg; rabbit transdermal LD₅₀ is 380mg/kg; Rat inhalation LC₅₀ is 4000mg/m³ for 1/2 hour.
Explosion hazard
Flammability: Flash point 13°C, belongs to Class 3.2 flash point flammable liquid, its vapor and air can form an explosive mixture, in case of open flame, high heat or contact with oxidant, there is a risk of combustion explosion.
Explosiveness: It is very easy to oxidize and form peroxide in the air, and it will explode when exposed to heat or impact, or even slight friction. At the high temperature of the fire, polymerization and exothermia can occur, causing the container to rupture.
use
Organic synthesis intermediates: used to prepare isobutanol, n-butyraldehyde, rubber vulcanization accelerator, ethanol denaturant and tanning agent, etc., and react with pentaerythritol to obtain heat-resistant resin raw materials.
Other applications: used in the preparation of mineral processing foaming agents, dyes and rubber antioxidants, pesticides and military chemicals.
Storage & Transportation
Storage: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse, and the storage temperature should not exceed 30°C or 37°C. The packaging should be sealed and not in contact with air. It should be stored separately from oxidants, alkalis, and edible chemicals, and should not be mixed.
Transportation: Railway transportation should be in strict accordance with the Ministry of Railways “dangerous goods transport rules” in the dangerous goods assembly table for assembly. It is strictly forbidden to mix and transport with oxidants, alkalis, edible chemicals, etc., and should be protected from exposure to the sun, rain and high temperature during transportation.
