Black 3 CAS 4197-25-5 Introduction

Sudan Black B is an organic dye with the chemical name methylene blue. It is a dark blue crystalline powder with good solubility in water.
It is also widely used in histology as a staining reagent under the microscope to stain cells and tissues for easy observation.

The method for the preparation of Sudan black B is usually obtained by the reaction between Sudan III and methylene blue. Sudan Black B can also be obtained by reduction from methylene blue.

The following safety information should be taken care of when using Sudan Black B: It is irritating to the eyes and skin, and direct contact should be avoided when touched. Appropriate protective measures, such as laboratory gloves and goggles, should be worn during handling or touching. Do not inhale the powder or solution of Sudan Black B and avoid ingestion or swallowing. Proper operating procedures should be followed in the laboratory and should be used in a well-ventilated area.
