 4-Nitrophenetole(CAS#100-29-8)

quality
Pale yellow crystals. The melting point is 60 °C (58 °C), the boiling point is 283 °C, 112~115 °C (0.4kPa), and the relative density is 1. 1176。 Slightly soluble in water, cold ethanol and cold petroleum ether. Soluble in ether, soluble in hot ethanol and hot petroleum ether.

Method
It is prepared by etherification reaction of p-nitrochlorobenzene and ethanol. P-nitrochlorobenzene and ethanol were added to the reaction kettle, the temperature was raised to 82 °C, and the ethanol sodium hydroxide solution was added dropwise, and the reaction was carried out at 85~88 °C for 3h. The alkalinity of the reaction solution was reduced to below 0.9%, cooled to 75 °C, and the pH value was adjusted to 6.7~7 with concentrated hydrochloric acid. After standing and stratification, the oil layer is taken and the sodium nitrophenol is washed away by heating water, and the oil layer is distilled under reduced pressure, and the fraction of 214~218 °C (2. 66~5.32kPa) is taken as this product.

use
used as an intermediate in drugs and dyes. It is used in medicine to synthesize phenacetin, etc.

security
This product is toxic. Both inhalation and ingestion are harmful to health. Wear safety glasses, wear anti-poison penetration overalls, and wear self-priming filter compound dust masks when in contact with dust.
