Introduction
Properties: 5-pentylresorcinol is a solid, white to yellow crystals in appearance, soluble in alcohols, ethers and chlorinated hydrocarbons, insoluble in water. It is stable at high temperatures, resistant to oxidation, and resistant to ultraviolet light. It can delay the oxidative degradation of oils and fats, thereby extending the shelf life of the product. Preparation method: The preparation of 5-pentylresorcinol is usually obtained by esterification reaction of the corresponding high-carbon alcohol and resorcinol. First, high-carbon alcohols are reacted with resorcinol under acidic conditions to generate 5-pentylresorcinol ester, and then the ester group is converted into an ether group through hydrolysis reaction, and finally 5-pentylresorcinol is obtained. Safety Information: Under proper use and storage conditions, 5-pentylresorcinol is generally safe. Appropriate protective gloves, glasses, and masks should be worn when in use. During treatment, care should be taken to avoid inhaling its dust or vapors. In addition, the compound should be kept away from fire and high temperatures, and stored in a dark, dry place.
