Introduction

2,4,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde, chemical formula C7H3F3O, is an organic compound.

Properties: 2,4,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde is a colorless to light yellow oily liquid with a strong pungent odor. It is a flammable liquid and can form a flammable mixture with air. It has a density of 1.532g/cm³, a melting point of -30°C and a boiling point of 98-99°C. 2,4,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde is poorly soluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as ether and benzene.

Uses: 2,4,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde is mainly used as an important raw material for pesticide intermediates and organic synthesis. It can be used in the synthesis of benzoyl cyanide, grass ketone and other pesticides and glyphosate and other herbicides. In addition, it can also be used in the production of dyes and medicine and other fields.

Preparation method: 2,4,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde can be prepared by cyanation reaction of 1,3, 5-trifluorobenzene and hydrogen cyanide. The specific operation is to react 1,3, 5-trifluorobenzene with hydrogen cyanide under acidic conditions to generate 2,4, 5-trifluorobenzonitrile. The 2,4, 5-trifluorobenzonitrile is then oxidized to 2,4,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde with an oxidizing agent.

Safety information: 2,4,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde is irritating and corrosive, and contact with skin and eyes can cause irritation and burns. Therefore, appropriate protective measures, including gloves, goggles and laboratory coats, should be worn during use. In addition, it is also a flammable substance and should avoid contact with open flames or high temperatures, and should be stored away from fire sources.
