2-Propargyloxane(CAS#6089-04-9) introduction
2-(2-propropoxy)tetrahydropyran. The following is an introduction to the properties, uses, preparation methods, and safety information of the compound:
Quality:
Appearance: Colorless liquid.
Density: 0.887 g/cm³.
Solubility: Soluble in water, alcohol and ether solvents.
Use:
It is also commonly used as a solvent in the polymer industry, e.g. in the preparation of polyacrylamide (PAN) fibers.
Method:
THF can be prepared by the condensation reaction of 1,4-butanediol. 1,4-butanediol is reacted with dilute sulfuric acid or an acidic catalyst to generate 1,4-butadiene; Then, it reacts with acetylene to form 2-(2-propropoxy)tetrahydropyran.
It can also be prepared by the reaction of tetrahydropyran with dimethyl carbonate in the presence of sodium hydroxide.
Safety Information:
May be irritating to the skin and eyes, use personal protective equipment such as gloves and goggles.
It should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from fire and oxidants.
Pay attention to a well-ventilated environment when using it to prevent steam inhalation and cause uncomfortable symptoms.
