2-Cyano-4-methylpyridine(CAS# 1620-76-4) Information
Application | 2-cyano-4-methylpyridine is an organic intermediate, which can be first oxidized from 4-methylpyridine to prepare 4-Methyl-pyridine-N-oxide, and then substituted with cyano group to obtain. 4-methyl-pyridine-N-oxide can be used to prepare 4-methyl -2, 6-dicarboxypyridine, 4-methyl -2, 6-dicarboxypyridine is a very useful pyridine derivative and a very important intermediate compound, which is widely used in the field of pharmacy. |
preparation | 4-methyl-pyridine-N-oxide (0.109g,1mmol), trimethylcyanosilane (0.119g,1.2mmol),H-diethyl phosphite (0.276g,2mmol), carbon tetrachloride (0.308g,2mmol), triethylamine (0.202g,2mmol) and acetonitrile 10mL in a 50mL three-mouth flask, react at room temperature for 6h. After the reaction is completed, the solvent is removed under reduced pressure and separated by column chromatography (petroleum ether/ethyl acetate, V/V = 4:1) to obtain colorless liquid target compound with 80% yield. |
