2-Cyano-3-nitropyridine(CAS# 51315-07-2)
UN IDs | UN2811 |
Introduction
3-nitro-2-cyanopyridine.
Quality:
3-nitro-2-cyanopyridine is a colorless crystalline solid, insoluble in water at room temperature, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether and acetone. It has a strong pungent odor.
Use:
3-Nitro-2-cyanopyridine is commonly used as a chemical reagent for cyanoation and electrophilic nitrification in organic synthesis reactions. It can also be used as an intermediate in dyes and pigments for the synthesis of organic dyes.
Method:
3-Nitro-2-cyanopyridine can be prepared by nitrosylation and cyanoation reactions of benzene. Benzene can react with nitric acid to obtain phenyl nitro compounds, which are then converted to 3-nitro-2-cyanopyridine by cyanoation under alkaline conditions.
Safety Information:
3-Nitro-2-cyanopyridine is irritating and flammable. Chemical protective gloves, goggles, and face shields should be worn to ensure a well-ventilated laboratory environment.
